When is the best time to go on Safari...?
Dry Season (June to October): This is the best time for wildlife viewing in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, with the Great Migration taking place. The weather is cooler and dry, making game drives easier and more comfortable.
Green Season (November to March): A great time for birdwatching and to see the calving season in the Serengeti. The landscapes are lush and green, and it’s less crowded, although some parks may be harder to access due to rain.
Dry Season (June to October): Ideal for safari in the Maasai Mara, especially for the Great Migration (July to October). Wildlife congregates around water sources, making animals easier to spot. The weather is warm and dry.
Green Season (November to March): A quieter time, perfect for watching baby animals and predators in action. While some roads might be challenging due to rain, the parks are less crowded and more affordable during this season.
Dry Season (May to September): Ideal for game viewing, especially in Kruger National Park. Animals concentrate around waterholes, making them easier to spot. It’s also the best time for malaria-free safaris in regions like the Eastern Cape.
Green Season (October to March): Offers lush landscapes and excellent birdwatching, with many migratory species. Summer (December to February) brings baby animals and exciting predator-prey interactions, though rain can limit access to some areas.
